a guest lecturer who owned the number.

Most marketing classes teach the framework and skip the budget. I spent 15 years leading B2B marketing, including senior roles at PE-backed companies, and I now run my own firm with AI agents. I will teach your students what the job pays for, what it cuts and what breaks. It is free.

five sessions i can teach.

  1. 50 to 75 minutes

Marketing, entrepreneurship, MBA and business analytics classes

How a three-person marketing team sourced $200M of pipeline

The real budget and the real funnel. I walk the MacroFab numbers line by line and show which programs carried the pipeline.

    Students leave able to:

    • Turn a marketing budget into a pipeline target a CFO will sign.
    • Explain the difference between marketing-sourced and marketing-influenced pipeline.
    • Pick the first three programs to cut when the budget is half of what the plan needs.
  2. 50 to 75 minutes

Analytics, marketing measurement and operations classes

Attribution and forecasting without a six-figure vendor

How a funnel forecast stayed within 92% accuracy for three consecutive years, and how to tell when a dashboard is lying to you.

    Students leave able to:

    • Build a stage-by-stage funnel forecast from conversion rates and cycle time.
    • Write attribution rules a sales leader and a finance leader will both accept.
    • Spot the data-quality failures that break most marketing reports.
  3. 50 to 75 minutes

Marketing, technology, entrepreneurship and professional-studies programs

Running a marketing function with AI agents, and where automation stops

After a year of testing, roughly 80 to 90 percent of marketing work was repetitive and data-bound. The rest needed a person. I show where the line sits and how I put an approval gate on it.

    Students leave able to:

    • Split a marketing function into machine work and human judgment.
    • Design an approval step so an agent cannot publish, spend or send on its own.
    • Read an AI vendor claim and find what it leaves out.
  4. 45 to 60 minutes

Entrepreneurship, small business and career-transition programs

Starting a one-person consultancy after a VP job

What changed when I left a VP seat and started Ascend GTM in February 2025: one buyer, one problem, published prices and a platform that carries the volume.

    Students leave able to:

    • Choose one buyer and one problem instead of a service menu.
    • Price work as a fixed scope or a monthly retainer and publish the price.
    • Decide what to automate before hiring anyone.
  5. 45 to 60 minutes

Small business, entrepreneurship, APEX Accelerator and SBDC programs

Selling marketing to government as a first-time vendor

I registered Ascend GTM in SAM.gov and wrote a capability statement with no past-performance record yet. I teach the order of operations and the free help that exists in Dallas-Fort Worth.

    Students leave able to:

    • Register in SAM.gov for free and explain what the UEI and CAGE code are for.
    • Choose NAICS codes and check the size standard before writing a word of copy.
    • Write a one-page capability statement that leads with proof when past performance is thin.
    • Find the free counselors and training before paying anyone for registration.
